SHARE S20 RTK
Interiors, stairwells, under cover, tunnels. Walk through, and the S20 builds a colourised, RTK-georeferenced point cloud that registers cleanly with your drone data — indoor and outdoor, one continuous model, straight into CAD and BIM.
No equivalent handheld RTK SLAM scanner ships at this price in Australia. Every unit is stocked, configured and supported from Melbourne.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Buying & price
Why is the Australian price different from SHARE's US store?
SHARE's direct price (US$4,999) works out to roughly the same money once you add currency conversion, international shipping and import GST — and it arrives with no local warranty, no training and no support. Our $7,999 includes a GST tax invoice, Australian Consumer Law protection, a hands-on handover from our Melbourne team, and someone local to call when you're standing on site with a question.
What's the difference between the S20 SE, S20 SE RTK and SLAM S20 RTK?
The S20 SE is the entry scanner with no RTK — relative accuracy only. The S20 SE RTK adds detachable RTK for georeferencing. The SLAM S20 RTK (this page) is the flagship: built-in RTK, dual 1-inch 16MP cameras with a mechanical shutter, and the highest colour fidelity of the three. If your deliverables need real-world coordinates and survey-grade colourised clouds, this is the one.
Is training included?
Yes, in Melbourne. Every S20 bought from us includes a hands-on handover from our Melbourne team covering AUSCORS NTRIP setup, your first scan and the data workflow into your CAD/BIM software. Training is also available in other major Australian cities for an additional fee.
Accuracy
How accurate is the S20 really? I've seen 0.8 cm and 5 cm quoted.
Both numbers are real — they measure different things. 0.8 cm + 1 ppm (horizontal) is the RTK positioning accuracy: how precisely the scan is placed in real-world coordinates. The point cloud itself achieves better than 5 cm absolute accuracy and better than 1 cm relative accuracy, with cloud thickness within 1 cm. When comparing against a survey spec, use the absolute figure.
Do I need ground control points?
Not for georeferencing, as long as you have an RTK fixed solution (AUSCORS NTRIP corrections). In GNSS-denied environments — deep interiors, tunnels, heavy cover — use the included GCP positioning plate to constrain the scan to known coordinates. For deliverables with a stated accuracy spec, we recommend independent check shots regardless; that's standard QA, not a workaround.
Does it work where there's no GNSS signal at all?
Yes — that's what the fused LiDAR + visual SLAM is for. The scanner holds its trajectory through stairwells, tunnels and interiors without satellites, and the positioning plate lets you tie those scans to real-world coordinates.
Workflow & data
Can I merge S20 scans with my drone data?
Yes. Because the S20 outputs RTK-georeferenced clouds in real-world coordinates, handheld and aerial datasets register into one continuous model — interiors and ground-level detail from the S20, roofs and overviews from the drone.
What file formats does it output, and will they open in my software?
Point clouds export in standard formats (LAS/PLY and others) that load directly into CAD, BIM and GIS packages, plus common point cloud tools. Processing runs through the SHARE app in the field or SHARE PointClouds Studio on desktop.
Do I have to process in SHARE's software?
No. The raw data is open — you can run your own SLAM pipeline, and the pose-tagged photos support photogrammetry, mesh generation and 3D Gaussian splatting workflows. An open SDK and hardware interface also allow integration with robotic platforms.
How do I get RTK corrections in the field?
The S20 connects to AUSCORS — Australia's national NTRIP network — over your phone's data connection, giving you a fixed RTK solution across most of the country. We set this up with you during handover.
In the field
How long does it run, and how much can I scan in a session?
About 150 minutes per battery, capturing 200,000 points per second, with 256 GB of expandable storage. Batteries hot-swap via the quick-release handle, so coverage is limited by your legs more than the hardware.
What conditions can it handle?
Rated for -20 °C to +50 °C, in an aluminium body weighing just over 1 kg. Like all LiDAR, heavy rain and reflective wet surfaces degrade results — scan in dry conditions where the spec matters.
Support
What warranty and support do I get?
A 12-month warranty backed by Australian Consumer Law, with support from our Melbourne team — phone, email, and the same engineers who did your handover.
Put the scanner on four legs
Pair the S20 RTK with a Unitree robot dog and walk georeferenced point clouds through tunnels, stopes, and hazardous ground, no operator inside. We'll integrate the payload and RTK for you.
