Just back from SHARE3DCAM's office in Nanshan, Shenzhen, next to DJI Skycity. We were welcomed by the team, walked the office, sat with R&D and sales, and had our first lunch in China. The hospitality was real. Going there was about the people who build the scanners, and a factory relationship we can actually use from here.
A handheld that leaves here is not a SKU we found on a website. Direct factory relationship is how the kit is set up before it ships, including AUSCORS NTRIP on a connected site, and how the same people who commission it still answer the phone.
What we supply now
The current handhelds are C1 and C1 Pro.
C1 is the indoor and GPS-denied walk: apartments, fit-outs, plant rooms, a relative as-built. Dual 2.3 MP cameras. Relative under 1 cm on a clean walk. An RTK module can come later if the mix of jobs changes.
C1 Pro is the mixed-site handheld: built-in RTK, dual 1-inch 16 MP mechanical-shutter cameras, absolute under 5 cm with RTK on a clean traverse, in the OEM's conditions. Same 0.1 to 70 m class at 80 percent reflectivity as C1. Colour is part of the record on this unit, which is why we put it on mixed-light facades and Gaussian splat work.
Weight is about 955 g on C1 and about 1.08 kg on C1 Pro. Runtime is about 180 minutes on C1 and about 150 minutes on C1 Pro. Bring a spare pack for a full floor plate.
Twelve months of MapShare Studio is included with the SHARE scanners we supply. Capture on the scanner, send the client a browser scene. The chooser is there if you want the two handhelds side by side.
What we saw next
We also got time with the C10 while we were there. It is an impressive unit. We walked it at the office with the live cloud on the phone. That is an early look, not a launch post.
C3 Pro is due later this year. We will write it up when it is a scanner we can actually hand over.
