Higher channel count and backpack form factor hold longer walks cleaner than a one-handed C1. Start at C10-16 if budget is tight. Step to C10-32 or Pro when density or range matters.

Questions for this job
Will C10 stay drift-free in a blank tunnel?
Better than C1-class units, not automatically perfect. Segment the job, add loops, slow the walk, use known points where absolute hold matters.
Do we need C10-32 Pro?
When 300 m range or the Pro imaging path earns its keep. Otherwise C10-32 is the denser mid. We size from the site, not the brochure.
Can we tie into surface survey?
Yes. Surface with RTK where you have sky view, then bridge. C1 Pro is a common partner kit for that leg.
What about reflective plant surfaces?
Still hard. Plan angles, use markers or film when the surface must appear, and verify fines manually.
