Search after dark

Full-colour night vision on a 1/0.98-inch sensor, a 1280 × 1024 thermal camera and a near-infrared light find people and vehicles at night.

Wire-level sensing

Standard LiDAR and millimetre-wave radar sense power lines and thin wires. Automated power line inspection runs from DJI Pilot 2.

Takeoff from a ship

Shipborne takeoff and landing for maritime inspection, with ADS-B and RID receivers flagging nearby aircraft.

Thermal maps of solar farms

2D thermal mapping measures and annotates temperature, and in-flight modelling outputs on the remote controller.

Choosing a model

What's new over Matrice 4T?
A 1280 × 1024 thermal camera against 640 × 512, up to 59 minutes in the air against 49, and a 3 km laser rangefinder against 1,800 m. It adds standard LiDAR and millimetre-wave radar for wire-level sensing, and a larger 1/0.98-inch wide camera.
Matrice 5T or Matrice 5TD?
Matrice 5TD flies from DJI Dock 4. Matrice 5T is flown by a pilot on the DJI RC Plus 3 Enterprise.

On the job

What cameras does it carry?
A 1280 × 1024 thermal camera with a 2K UHR mode, a 1/0.98-inch wide camera with full-colour night vision and a zoom camera reaching 176× hybrid zoom with an IR cut filter. A 3 km laser rangefinder and a near-infrared light sit alongside.
How long does it fly?
Up to 59 minutes on low-noise, high-efficiency propellers, with a top speed of 23 m/s.
How well does it see at night?
The wide camera shoots full-colour night video on a 1/0.98-inch sensor, the thermal camera reads 1280 × 1024 and a near-infrared light adds reach. Thermal and visible views can run fused or split-screen.
What conditions can it fly in?
It's rated IP55 and operates from -20 °C to 50 °C.
How does it avoid obstacles?
Standard LiDAR and millimetre-wave radar sense obstacles down to wires, and omnidirectional vision and Vision Assist both work in full colour. Built-in ADS-B and RID receivers flag nearby aircraft.
What can the onboard AI do?
Built-in models detect more than 20 target types. The onboard computer is open to third-party algorithms, and it works with DJI FlightHub 2 for multimodal object detection.
Can it map?
Yes. Rolling shutter correction supports accurate reconstruction, 2D thermal maps carry temperature measurement and annotation, and in-flight modelling outputs on the remote controller. It also supports close-range photogrammetry.
Can it take off from a ship?
Yes. Shipborne takeoff and landing supports maritime inspection.
Can it run custom workflows?
Yes. DJI Pilot 2 takes third-party plugins for tailored workflows, and automated power line inspection is built in.

Ownership

Which accessories are available?
The DJI RC Plus 3 Enterprise remote controller, a high-volume speaker with a built-in warning light, a spotlight with integrated spot and flood lights, and a 515W charging hub. Each is sold separately.
